OWON: People have no idea how real surveillance works any more. The claws of the Deep State run deep in ways people cannot accept and the best surveillance is one you do not see. The ultimate controls are the ones you never notice.

New means of mass surveillance

The Central Intelligence Agency took control of the largest retailer of "natural" food in the US - Whole Foods. And it's not just commercial profit.

On June 16, 2017 - the largest American online retailer Amazon announced the purchase of a supermarket chain of food - Whole Foods Market. The sum of the deal is enormous - 13.7 billion dollars, taking into account the fact that Amazon itself has about 21.5 billion reserved. The deal is incredibly big. However, financial and commercial reasons are only the tip of the iceberg. In fact, much more serious forces are involved.

The official explanation for an expensive purchase is the optimization of the Whole Foods process. It means that Amazon undertakes the introduction of more modern technologies and control of distribution centers and reduction of transportation costs.

Let us recall that Amazon has long gone beyond the ordinary online store. The company has already materialized itself– firstly, in the form of a bookshop in Washington, and then - in the test supermarket Amazon Go, which does not have practically real personnel. In addition, the company has launched an online store AmazonFresh since 2007.

In fact, this means a solid offline presence in the US, Canada and the UK, particularly, in 460 supermarkets that are purchased by the company. Thus, the head of Amazon Jeff Bezos significantly strengthens its position in the market for the sale and delivery of products, and also has the opportunity to take advantage of discounts on certain products and free urgent delivery.

Amazon will exercise control over huge amounts of food, establish new relationships with all the farmers that the Whole Foods has used as suppliers. And this, as it is known, is also a huge field for manipulation and control.
Who are you, Mr. Bezos?

But all that is written above is only part of the truth. To dig deeper, let us recall the most important fact in the biography of the owner of the giant retailer...

Turmeric kills nearly all forms of cancer cells

The ability of turmeric to fight cancer has been extensively researched. In fact, over 1,500 published studies show that curcumin, turmeric’s active ingredient, is an effective treatment for over 100 different types of cancer.

The fact that mainstream medicine hasn’t embraced turmeric as a non-toxic cancer therapy is nothing short of outrageous. But a new study, in which curcumin outperformed conventional chemotherapy drugs, may finally bring turmeric the recognition it deserves.

Turmeric gaining in popularity due to the growing awareness of chemotherapy and its negative side effects

Chemotherapy targets cancer cells as foreign invaders to be eliminated – an approach that ignores the root causes of the disease, and doesn’t help to create an “anticancer” environment in the body. Toxic chemotherapy drugs – which kill healthy cells and cause debilitating side effects – are not very effective against cancer stem cells, the “mother cells” that regulate the growth of tumors.

In fact, the result of these toxic drugs is to make the body even more susceptible to the cancer stem cells – spurring them to create even more treatment-resistant cells.

However, chemotherapy does succeed in killing significant amounts of cancer cells, and this is not to say it should never be used. But, the opinion of many integrative healthcare professionals is that it should be used as a last resort, not a first line of defense – especially when safer, non-toxic options are available...

Yes, it is and a reason why biofeedback is becoming a real medical trend in the U.K. and Europe.

20 amazing facts about the human body

Many of the most exciting discoveries in all fields of science are being played out in the human body.

The appendix gets a bad press. It is usually treated as a body part that lost its function millions of years ago. All it seems to do is occasionally get infected and cause appendicitis. Yet recently it has been discovered that the appendix is very useful to the bacteria that help your digestive system function. They use it to get respite from the strain of the frenzied activity of the gut, somewhere to breed and help keep the gut's bacterial inhabitants topped up. So treat your appendix with respect.

Practically everything we experience is made up of molecules. These vary in size from simple pairs of atoms, like an oxygen molecule, to complex organic structures. But the biggest molecule in nature resides in your body. It is chromosome 1. A normal human cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes in its nucleus, each a single, very long, molecule of DNA. Chromosome 1 is the biggest, containing around 10bn atoms, to pack in the amount of information that is encoded in the molecule.

It is hard to grasp just how small the atoms that make up your body are until you take a look at the sheer number of them. An adult is made up of around 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) atoms...

OWON: Corruption abounds in Asia also.

The friend of South Korea's disgraced former president gets three years behind bars

The friend of former South Korean leader Park Geun-hye, who was at the centre of an influence-peddling scandal that rocked the country's business and political elite, has been sentenced to three years in jail, Yonhap News Agency reported on Friday.

The court decision was the first ruling against Choi Soon-sil, a long-time confidante of the ousted South Korean president, who has been arrested and is being held in jail over the corruption scandal that ended her administration.

Prosecutors had demanded a seven-year jail term for Choi on charges of obstruction of business and links to Park in order to force a university to give her daughter preferential treatment.

In the sentencing ruling cited by Yonhap, the Seoul Central District Court said it "accepts the evidence that Choi conspired with school officials to give her daughter favours".

"Choi violated laws and proper procedures to benefit her daughter," the court said. Reuters was not able to reach court officials immediately to confirm the report...

Authorities investigate claims of cadmium-laced wheat from central China

The Ministry of Environmental Protection says it is running independent tests to verify claims of cadmium contamination in wheat in central China — the latest in a string of food safety scandals linked to soil pollution in the country.

Wheat planted in at least two townships in Xinxiang, Henan province, was laced with the hazardous heavy metal, according to a spokesperson from Airman, an environmental advocacy group in Beijing.

Airman’s samples contained two to 18 times more cadmium than is allowed under national food safety standards, said Tian Jing, a program manager with Airman.

The nongovernmental organization (NGO) had collected 12 wheat samples from fields in two rural townships in Xinxiang in late May and earlier this month. It had them tested at a government-accredited lab in central China’s Hunan province...

OWON: As an overview of this new rush into blockchain investing, this is one of many reports trying to make sense of it.

A beginners step into the dark. Where to start?

How to make money investing in Blockchains

I recently started a small cryptocurrency fund for investing in new / alternative blockchain protocols.

Something I noticed as an investor is that there’s a huge learning-curve advantage that can be leveraged in the cryptocurrency space to create an overall profitable investment strategy.

Today, there’s a flood of new information and new protocols popping up every day, and if a speculator doesn’t understand the underlying technology behind each of the protocols, they’re going to have a tough time picking winners.

You can check out all the upcoming alt-coins here:

That means if you can parse out the good stuff from this chaotic sea of information, you can start to build a portfolio of ‘good bets’.

While this doesn’t mean everything you pick will be a winner (markets are still irrational, and the humans behind each project are still human) – but on the few bets you do win, the returns will be in the order of 10-15x, and in some cases even 100x the initial investment.

In this post I’m going to outline our investment thesis as well as talk about a few of the new protocols that I’m watching closely...

OWON: As many readers show an increased need to debate this topic, we are providing one of a series of examples simply to promote and challenge thought.

Biophotons: the human body emits, communicates with, and is made from light

Increasingly science agrees with the poetry of direct human experience: we are more than the atoms and molecules that make up our bodies, but beings of light as well. Biophotons are emitted by the human body, can be released through mental intention, and may modulate fundamental processes within cell-to-cell communication and DNA.

Nothing is more amazing than the highly improbable fact that we exist. We often ignore this fact, oblivious to the reality that instead of something there could be nothing at all, i.e. why is there a universe (poignantly aware of itself through us) and not some void completely unconscious of itself?

Consider that from light, air, water, basic minerals within the crust of the earth, and the at least 3 billion year old information contained within the nucleus of one diploid zygote cell, the human body is formed, and within that body a soul capable of at least trying to comprehend its bodily and spiritual origins.

Given the sheer insanity of our existential condition, and bodily incarnation as a whole, and considering that our earthly existence is partially formed from sunlight and requires the continual consumption of condensed sunlight in the form of food, it may not sound so farfetched that our body emits light.

Indeed, the human body emits biophotons, also known as ultraweak photon emissions (UPE), with a visibility 1,000 times lower than the sensitivity of our naked eye. While not visible to us, these particles of light (or waves, depending on how you are measuring them) are part of the visible electromagnetic spectrum (380-780 nm) and are detectable via sophisticated modern instrumentation...

OWON: This should be interesting to many. Think projects and what can be accomplished.

19 giant infrastructure projects that could reshape the world

The world is full of unfathomably huge projects happening right under our noses.

Take the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, which will link three major Chinese cities in the country's quest to bring 42 million people together. Or Norway's plan to build the world's first fully-submerged floating tunnel to cut travel times between fjords in half.

Those efforts and many others illustrate how investing billions of dollars in enormous projects can collectively make the world a better place to live.

Here are some of the biggest projects the world has seen so far...
