OWON: Talk about a brand hit. Nice one Starbucks, headed by an immature fool who does not get that customers just don't want to be served food by the hands of an illegal whose just used it to wipe his Butt instead of using paper. In the hospitality industry, proper personal hygiene matters!

Starbucks' 'Brand Perception' takes a massive hit after announcing plans to hire 10,000 refugees

About a month ago, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz decided to 'take a stand' in defiance of Trump's immigration executive order and penned a message to the world vowing, among other things, to hire 10,000 refugees over the next 5 years and "build bridges, not walls, with Mexico". Here are some excerpts from the politically charged message drafted by Schultz with "deep concern and a heavy heart":

I write to you today with deep concern, a heavy heart and a resolute promise. Let me begin with the news that is immediately in front of us: we have all been witness to the confusion, surprise and opposition to the Executive Order that President Trump issued on Friday, effectively banning people from several predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States, including refugees fleeing wars. I can assure you that our Partner Resources team has been in direct contact with the partners who are impacted by this immigration ban, and we are doing everything possible to support and help them to navigate through this confusing period.

OWON: A changing world. China is now becoming the largest Trading Partner in more nations, replacing the US.

China overtakes US and France as Germany's biggest trading partner
China for the first time became Germany's most important trading partner in 2016, overtaking the United States, which fell back to third place behind France, data showed on Friday.

German imports from and exports to China rose to 170 billion euros ($180 billion) last year, Federal Statistics Office figures reviewed by Reuters showed.

The development is likely to be welcomed by the German government, which has made it a goal to safeguard global free trade after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs on imports and his top adviser on trade accused Germany of exploiting a weak euro to boost exports...

OWON: If true, an interesting idea with many ramifications as America faces terminal decline in world standing and control. Joining the Club at last as a life raft for the future.

White House's reaction 'very positive' as invitation extended to join Commonwealth - report

The Royal Commonwealth Society is planning to open a branch in New York with a view to bringing the US into the fold as an "associate member".

The project, said to be backed by the Queen, has come about in part as a result of Donald Trump's fondness for Britain and the Royal Family.

It follows efforts to develop the Commonwealth as a tool for building relationships on foreign policy and trade following Britain's exit from the EU...

OWON: An old copy but this says it all. The real question is why one should expect anything more, given the life they left and were raised in. This is picking your fruit and veg and now polluting your water systems. Illegal Immigration, sure about that?

Well done to the Trump team for taking it on head first. Credit where it is due. Watch the video then form opinions. This is every day now in Europe. Having bombed them into the Stone Age, thanks - for nothing!

This is the real cost of befuddled US policy messing. We all pay! But the CIA makes 400% more from Afghan Drug dealing, and it lines more Banker's and Politician's pockets.

VIDEO=> Migrant Washes Anus at Public Fountain in Italy #CulturalEnrichment

You’re going to LOVE the new Europe!
A migrant was caught on camera washing his a$$ at a public fountain...

OWON: This is a whole new Game Changer now. Coming at Israel soon. Two can play.

Imagine these in the Muzzie's hands in America? It levels the playing field, so imagine these dropping into a sports stadium. That will be a Muzzie's Home Run.

If these drones hit Europe the place will be total chaos.

Israeli soldier gets 18 months' jail for killing wounded Palestinian attacker

A young Israeli soldier who killed a wounded and incapacitated Palestinian assailant was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment on Tuesday, in a show of leniency that drew Palestinian outrage after one of the most divisive trials in Israel's history.

Eleven months ago, Sergeant Elor Azaria was serving as an army medic in the town of Hebron in the occupied West Bank when two Palestinians stabbed and wounded another soldier.

One of the assailants was shot dead by troops. The other was shot and wounded. Eleven minutes later, as the wounded man, Abd Elfatah Ashareef, 21, lay on the ground unable to move, Azaria, then 19, took aim with his rifle and put a bullet in his head...

  1. I'd put Cox in the same basket as Dawkins and deGrasse Tyson. Scientists to rusted to reductionism that they can't see what quantum physics has been shouting: everything is connected, not particulate assembled from the ground up. As shuttered as a priest.

A truth from (most) of these cool articles is that we only see what we see. How we are taught.

In meeting other galactic civilizations how will we fare if we keep our blinkers on?

The C'wealth article is very interesting. The swimming battle at the Games will be very interesting :)

  2. WOW! This is certainly a mixed bunch of articles. All different emotions were tugged at.

    1. Not sure how the Starbucks situation will be received overall. Some will consider this a great idea and support them more. Others will not like this decision and refrain from supporting the business. We will have to wait and see what happens re this one. I'm with you John. Personal hygiene is most certainly at the top of my list and not just where hospitality industry is concerned either. With everything. Then again I'm probably a bit OCD like that LOL. Wash my hands waaaaaay too many times each day.

    2. The China/Germany story. Well that was probably inevitable. But I would not count Trump out just yet.

    3. The Commonwealth link is certainly an interesting one to ponder. If it is true and does proceed I certainly hope a great deal of good comes from that connection.

    4. Well. I have already had my say about the disgusting arse washer in the general comment section. Won't blurt it out again here.

    5. Will have to come back to this one another time after updating something on this computer, cannot play it just now. Maybe tomorrow hopefully. I have been watching some of Brian's programs recently and do find some of his material quite fascinating. But even though I do not have his standard of education in this field or any field for that matter lol, some of the things he states definitely do not click with me and actually sometimes seem quite wrong to me.

    6. This drone situation is certainly not good. A great deal of harm can be created so easily with this type of weapon. Not sure I would like to see one of these flying above my head. When are we going to stop inventing new ways of killing each other for gods sake?

    7. This story disgusts me. The footage of this murdering child killing that wounded Palestinian man laying on the street absolutely disgusts me. What a cruel callous act that was, and so casually performed. Look at the madness oozing out of his eyes, pure evil in that one. If I was the judge he would be doing hard labour rebuilding Palestine for the next 40 years minimum. Absolutely disgraceful. And they wonder why they are hated.

    8. Hmm, I think I will steer clear of the new tv tray offered by Lowes. I'll stick to sitting at the dining table to consume my meals thank you very much. But funny all the same. You know what the frightening thing is with this. Some people will actually think this is a fantastic idea. OMG. God help us. LOL

Thanks again John and Canauzzie for all your time and trouble in keeping us updated with all the news, much appreciated.

  3. John,
You're looking a little surprised that someone snapped your picture! LOL! My husband thinks this is hilarious and has shared it with a bunch of his friends. Guess all boys...young and old...enjoy "potty humor."
