There IS alien life out there: Nasa boss believes we are not alone

OWoN: Sorry guys, but for those of you who seriously think we have Inter Galactic secret craft operable, let me assure you the current REAL state of US Cosmic flight is that we can't even create a toilet seat which does not shatter in flight with G forces. So be assured, the crapper issue is taxing many minds. No fun for poor Astronauts going into orbit and finding they have been sold a real Bum deal. Hello Trekkies, get real for a moment. First we need to get to the Bottom of the issues.

Charles Frank Bolden Jr., the Administrator of Nasa confirmed he believes there is life outside of Earth.

Facing readers from First News for the newspaper's Hotseat show on Sky News, he was asked if he believed in aliens by 10-year-old Carmen Dearing.

'I do believe that we will someday find other forms of life or a form of life, if not in our solar system then in some of the other solar systems - the billions of solar systems in the universe, he said.

Facing readers from First News for the newspaper's Hotseat show on Sky News, Charles Frank Bolden Jr. (left) , the Administrator of Nasa confirmed he believes there is life outside of Earth.

'Today we know that there are literally thousands, if not millions of other planets, many of which may be very similar to our own earth. So some of us, many of us believe that we're going to find…evidence that there is life elsewhere in the universe.'

He was also asked about repeated claims that the moon landings were fake, replying 'I have no doubts we went to the moon and I have no doubts that we're going to Mars in your lifetime.'

He also admitted to one question from 11 year old Shania Leurs that a key component of a Mars mission was toilets.

When asked: 'How soon do you think you'll get the first man or woman on mars?' Charles explained it would not be until they worked out how to develop, 'a toilet that's not going to break on the way there!'

When pushed for an answer on when we would get there, Charles replied, 'The goal is to have us there in the 2030's' and that he hoped some of the panelists would have the opportunity to be a part of it.

Talking about NASA's most significant projects they are currently working on, Major General Bolden revealed helping America's federal aviation administration was a top priority, 'so that people like Google and Amazon, can fly unmanned aerial systems into our airspace like normal aeroplanes.'

He also mentioned that getting the James Webb telescope ready for its launch in 2018, was another major focus, so ultimately we would be able 'to look into the atmosphere into some of the new planets that look like earth, to see if maybe there are signs of life there.'

Rosie Ashworth, 13, cheekily asked: 'It looks like you are good at everything, so what are you rubbish at?'

Bolden confirmed he was poor at languages, music, golf, and athletics, but that he loved them all anyway.

'Just because you're rubbish at something, doesn't mean you shouldn't try to do that, and that you should never tell yourself that you can't do something.'

It comes just days after former astronaut, John Grunsfeld, said that aliens may spot humans from afar from the changes we've made to Earth's environment.
